My name is Peres Justine Munanka, I am 17 years old, one of the pioneers of Kitenga Girls Secondary School and a volunteer with Girls Education Collaborative (GEC). My experience with GEC has made my time worthwhile during the wait to join in my next level of schooling and I am so thankful to God for such an opportunity.
I am so happy to volunteer for GEC as it has empowered me in many ways and it still strengthens me. I have learned so much and it has encouraged me to keep learning and researching what I am interested in. Also, volunteering with GEC has been a pathway from which I have met and gotten to know people that I did not know before. I even got to join World Pulse and publish my story, which got recognized, read it here. All this is thanks to GEC. I am so happy that I had an opportunity to volunteer for GEC and I sincerely look forward to volunteering for them in the future. I am always glad to get an opportunity to make our school recognized and I would be happy to volunteer again for Kitenga Girls Secondary School.
Interview with RISE Collaborative
I am so thankful to God but also my gratitude goes to all those who made this possible. I am wishing for success for GEC so it can prosper more and help many girls get their education. Special thanks to all the board members of GEC, it was your support that helped me through all this time.
THANK YOU,
Peres Munanka
